Speed & Flexibility: In the typical CFD workflow, whenever you need to work with a dataset, the entire dataset must be loaded in – every time. Using FieldView XDB, when a dataset is first read, you identify the post-processing objects you want included, such as cutting planes, surface geometries, or streamlines. FieldView saves this as an XDB file, allowing you to return to that file later without having to touch the full volume data again. Selections may be made in interactive mode using the FieldView GUI.

Reduced Storage: FieldView XDBs load and run extremely quickly and storage requirements are significantly reduced. Just like any other dataset, multiple XDBs can be appended and compared side by side or with raw CFD or existing FieldView datasets. For transient data, the benefits of XDBs are even greater.

Unlocks Computing Power: Running in batch mode, background, or overnight to create your user-defined XDB files frees you to perform other tasks in the meantime, while providing an instantly available starting point for subsequent analyses. Interactive quantitative and qualitative post-processing can be performed on one or more XDB files and the combined result saved as a new XDB file.
